Darki & his two brothers were rescued from behind a garage when they were eighteen months old. All three were riddled with worms and extremely thin. We caught two out of the three but Darki proved to be quite nimble. Eventually, we got him cornered and managed to catch him. I put my hand up to his head collar and was nearly sick. It had obviously been put on him as a baby and left on. Where the nose band went round his face it had dug into his skin down to his flesh. We got a knife and cut it off him. The holes it had left in his nose and jaw were full of maggots. 
It took a long time to get him right, but he was fine in the end. He is now coming up to 24 years old and has retired to the country with his brother.
