I won't win next year tho' coz Paul has said that mum has gotta judge!!!

We're going on holiday next week. We're making our annual trip to Blofield so anyone within a 50 mile radius had better go out and buy cotton wool............................... I hear there's gonna be Karaoke again!!!

Film Stars.............................

Posted at 04:56 PM on June 25, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Hellooooooo

We've not been to many shows yet this year. Me and Rej have been rubbin' shoulders, or knees, with film stars Star cool. The film hasn't got a name yet but it's about a man that lived in a forest, wore green tights and had a bow and arrow.Bow And Arrow

We even met up with Hilda again coz she's in it too, with her new brother - Bertie. She hadn't forgotten us and even still loved Duggie a bit, but Bert got jealous and wouldn't let her play with us much! Don't know when the film will be out at the cinema, but mum says you musn't blink or you might miss us - even though we've been filmin' for 6 weeks!!

We did camp at Newmarket show last weekend. Rej said that seeing as how he's semi-retired he's gonna do his own thing in the ring. Mum said there's nowt new there!!  Dug was a good boy and worked his 'B' rounds properly for the first time. He got 2nd on Saturday and 4th on Sunday, so Mum was well chuffed. I'm gonna save myself for the Yarmouth weekend, so I've told her not to bother entering me at any other shows!

Ratz is starting to behave himself. I think he's realised that Mum's as 'full on' as he his.Tantrum

His recall is 99% ok now. He just goes a bit deaf when he's in 'Beardie Land'.

Oh and when he's trying to eat Max and Paddi, the bunnies!!!!  roll Bunny

Gotta go. It's very tiring being a Lurcher and having to type!

Scunthorpe Agility Show

Posted at 03:52 PM on April 16, 2009 Comments comments (0)

Hi,

Wogan here,

Just thought I'd tell you what's been going on - not a lot!
Mum's been busy at work with something called Mother's Day and Easter, I didn't really take much notice.

We did go to Scunthorpe Agility Show the other week. My granny and grandad came up to see us and brought my real dad along. You can see if I look like him in the photo on my page.

I have to go in G3 coz Rej won out when he used to play.  I had three runs. In the first one I got E'd coz mum forgot what commands to say - still it is over a year since we did any 'gility!  She wasn't too bothered coz she knew it was her fault.  Next was G3 Agility. I heard granny say that she was gonna film it so I decided to try really hard.  I only went and got a clear round. big grin  There was 257 in the class, mostly them black and white things. :/  The rosettes went down to 25th and yep, I came 26th - by 0.3 of a second. Mum was very happy tho' and said it was my best run ever and gave me loads of sweeties. The last class was Jumping and I was remembering all the sweets I got for being good so when the lady said "When ur ready........" I legged it as fast as I could. This took mum by surprise coz she normally has to wait for me. :P I did the first four jumps and was just gonna put my nose in the weaves when mum called me!?!?!?!  Being the good girl that I am, I stopped and looked at her. This cost us 5 faults. I finished the rest of the course and flew up the last line of jumps for my sweetie pot. (That made her puff!)  The reason she gave for calling me was that she didn't think I do the weaves on my own!

Honestly, don't she trust me..................................?

Happy New Year

Hi

Hope everyone had a good Christmas & New Year. We all went and spent the day at Aunty Iris' house on Boxing Day. She gave us a big bag of prezzies but mum wouldn't let us open them until we got home.  I've had a bad leg (something to do wiv getting old?!) and mum didn't want me to sit in the van so I went into the house and laid on the settee. I was just checking it out for size coz I remember mum saying I was gonna go and live with Iris if I kept being naughty last year.  Now I know how comfy it is there I might be even naughtier this year!  I don't think mum'll mind too much though, she keeps going on about my age and how I'm going to be winding down this year.  I think it just gives me a green card to cause mayhem...................................

Duggie's had his bits off!  He didn't like the vet lady at all and even growled at her.  Mum didn't think he had it in him rolleyes

And we've got a new arrival. Ratz has come to stay. He's a bit naughty too and reminds me a bit of myself when I was his age.  I must remember to share all my tips with him when mum ain't listening.

All done & dusted for this year

Just realised I haven't posted for ages!!

GREAT YARMOUTH

Another GREAT weekend - well week really. We went down on the Wednesdy with the caravan and had a bit of a holiday before the show started. The weather was fantastic and we all chilled out. The dogs spent most of the time lazing about in the sun and knawing on the cow legs that we took with us!

Duggie trained both days, his 'B' work is coming along nicely and I'm looking forward to working them next year.

Rej did some lovely work and then put his own interpretation in on the DC!!

Wilf was wonderful (he comes out of retirement for this weekend coz he likes camping <bg>) His round was awesome but he had to shout to everyone in his DC to make sure they knew he was working!!

The entertainment on Saturday night was the best yet. It was the clubs 50th anniversary and they bought everyone in the bar a drink. We had karaoke and everyone (I think?!?) had an excellent time. The video will be going on you tube as soon as I work out how to split it into chapters so that it's not too long at a time.

NORFOLK BROADS

Woge came out to play today.  She did a cracking round until she lost 'two' on her recall for running past me to see if her sweeties were on the table.  She reversed back and did a perfect present!!
The class was won on 1.75 and Woge lost 3.5. "Bless her!"

Rej put himself out a bit today too. Even tho he did an extra position on his DC, we managed to get 2nd. He was a good boy for the rest of the test.

EAST GRINSTEAD CHAMPIONSHIP

Rej was drawn 13th today. The round that Heidi set looked lovely to work. I went in and was gobsmacked that Rej was working!  He did his first two positions and I was really starting to enjoy the round when I realised I'd still got my titbit bag on my belt loop!! (f&%$**~~##) I think that just about makes us even on the year!

TUNBRIDGE WELLS CHAMPIONSHIP

I wasn't gonna go to this show, but decided to late on Friday night. Dottie didn't get my message and when I went to pick her up she was still in bed. So, do I go 4hrs on my own or do I go home and go back to bed?  It was 5am and I was already up, so I decided to 'go it alone!'
Rej was drawn 6th but we had to work 3rd. I got him out of the van and went straight into the ring.  Again, it was a nice round to work and Rej DID THE TEST!!!

He did everything today and we ended up 4th. Trust him to leave it 'til the last show of the season!!

And so it continues...........

Rej has been getting steadily worse - if that was possible!

I took him to have his back done and his shoulder's were very sore.  We had to go back again this week for a 'follow up' and Louise is very pleased with him.  He's having a very lazy week and we'll see what the weekend brings.  Hopefully, he'll be feeling better.

Hatchford Brook/Halstead

Posted at 04:25 PM on August 03, 2008 Comments comments (0)

Hi

We went to two shows this weekend.  On Saturday we went to Hatchford Brook. I was entered in 'A' & 'B'. I had a play in 'B' and got my 'look-look' for doing sendies. Then we did heeliework and I had to go fast and slow. I think I may like 'B' when I'm older. I worked my 'A' and I was being ever such a good boy, but then a dog flew at a van cage just as I went by and frightened me.  Scared 1  Mum told me everything was ok and asked the judge if we could just play so that I could be brave and go past the van again.  I wasn't too sure but I managed, with a little help.

Rej was soooooo naughty   that it's best not to talk about it!......................................

On Sunday we went to Halstead.  Rej was drawn in 'C', but his stays were at 10.30 so he didn't get to work before them.  He went to do stays and BROKE them. He couldn't manage to even sit for a minute! Mum trained his round but he was even naughtier than yesterday.  Mum's with him.  Auntie Iris said that he could go and live with her and Mum was very tempted................

I worked my 'A' today.  I showed Mum that I was very brave and being frightened hadn't put me off wanting to play.  I was a really good boy and got a clear scent at the end too.  When the scores were added up, we'd won again!!   I thought Mum would be happy but it looked as if she was gonna cry - she said it was coz she was so proud of me, funny way of showing it?!

Anyway that means I'm *out of 'A'* and have to do sendies and stuff for real.  Mum said I don't have to work any rounds until the end of the year and I can have my ball in the ring so that I can get confident about doing all the big boy stuff without her holding my hand.

We went back to the car and Rej said he was sorry, so he came home with us - but the offer from Auntie Iris is still open for next week.  he tries to be a good boy..............

It was very hot today!     Sweaty

I was drawn in C and decided I wanted to do a training round. Don't think mum was too happy!

I had a late draw in Ticket so she made me go and have a lie down in the car to think about things.  Hmm 2

Duggie was only entered in A but she said it was too hot to be playing with him, coz he makes her puff even when it's not sunny! I Don't Know She'll have to get a bit fitter when he gets into 'B'.

My turn for Ticket came round and I thought I'd better humour her. I did the test, and we came 6th.  I So Rock

That'll keep her happy for a couple of weeks, she's so easily pleased................................

Hi

We went to Deben Valley today.  We were a bit sad coz this is a lovely show, but they are not having it anymore coz nobody wants to help :o(

I decided to keep mum happy and do the test today. I made her sweat a bit in scent but I was a good boy and we ended up 3rd in C.  (Basket Weaving don't sound like my cup of tea!)

It was a good day all round for Spalding Club.

Kludo, who lives with Granny Dot, won his first Novice today. Moss who comes to play with us on a Monday got 3rd in A and Little Baby Dug won A, AGAIN!! So lots of Rosettes and lots of sweeties for us.

Not gotta show next weekend, Mum's gotta go to Church to put a baby in water.  Strange things you humans do................

Camping again this weekend.

Mum had been training Rej all ready for 'Ticket' this weekend. He was going really well and she was quite optimistic that he'd do the round. How wrong could she be? It was all going reasonably well until DC, when Rej had a bout of temporary deafness. (He did this last week as well at Oldham, we got up at 4 am to go there, he was 11th in the ring and DC was the first exercise.  I can't repeat what mum said then, coz we'd get banned from the 'puta!!)  At least when he did it this wekend she could console herself with the beer we'd bought with us. I did a training round again so that I get used to the ring a bit more.

Sunday Mum judged, so we didn't get to play.

She says that Rej has gotta pull his finger out (don't quite understand that coz we've got paws??) coz if he don't put a round together soon, he'll be staying at home and taking up basket weaving!!

Speak soon,

Newmarket Weekend

Posted at 06:27 PM on June 15, 2008 Comments comments (0)

Hi

We all went camping this weekend.

Rej didn't work at all coz he hurt his leg getting out of the van and so he wasn't quite sound. Don't think he minded too much!

Saturday I got to play at being a REALLY big boy and had a play in 'B'. I did a few sendaways to my 'look-look' and did proper heelwork with fast and slow bits.  I had a great time but mum said she was knackered!

Sunday I was drawn in A and mum was going to help me if I needed it. We started off and I was just glad that she'd stopped gabbling on at me and let me get on with my job.  It was a really nice round and I tried ever so hard to be good.  Mum was really pleased with me. We had to do that strange lay down with other dogs thing and now mum goes and hides while I lay down. It doesn't bother me though coz I know she wouldn't leave me! We then went and had a kip in the caravan. (Camping's very tiring you know)

We had to go back to the ring in the afternoon and play 'findies'. I know what to do I'm just not too quick at it at the minute. Anyway I ws a VERY good boy. When the judge added all the marks up, mum said a rude word, coz I'd won it!! She said it was coz she was pleased and surprised.  I was quite pleased coz I got LOADS of sweeties and cuddles and lots of people said how clever I was.

Rej said he wanted a word with me but Mum didn't leave us together????

Not gotta show for a couple of weeks coz mum's working.

West Suffolk/Ipswich weekend

Hi
Me and Dug went to the shows this weekend. Mum trained both my classes. She wouldn't let me have my ball but she helped me out when I was struggling and I got lots of sweeties when I came out for trying to be a good boy. I practised my stays too, so that I can be brave at the next 'Ticket' show we go to

Dug worked his first 'A' on Saturday. Mum said she was gonna start out working it but help him if he needed it.  He didn't.
It was the first time he'd done out of sight stays, but his friend Tucker did them with him so he  could hold his paw 'til Mum came back. It was also the first 'Big Boy' scent he'd done, but he was a star. ( I've taught him well....)
When it came to adding the scores up he was equal 1st with another dog and had to have a run off.  He ended up 2nd coz he made a few baby mistakes but we're all VERY PROUD of him.

Mum's judging this weekend at Woodbridge, so we're having a week off.

Bank Holiday Weekend

Posted at 05:49 PM on May 26, 2008 Comments comments (0)

Hi
I went to an Agility show on Saturday. When we got there all of my classes but one had started!  We had to do them quite close to each other, so I had to show my distaste at being rushed! I didn't run out of the ring or anything just made my own courses up.

Two dogs bit me again today.   I don't know what I do wrong to them?? One collie actually pulled his mum over to us so that he could bite me.  I can't disclose what my mum said or did, in case it's used in evidence against her in court, but lets just say 'I don't think the dog'll be doing it again in a hurry'. The other one flew out from under a table and got me.   His mum did tell him off for it.

Auntie Maureen ran me in the pairs. I tried to be a good girl but I had to go and check if Mum was watching, or whether she'd gone home without me?!

Rej & Duggie went to Leics GSD Championship Show on Monday. They said it was VERY windy and they had a job to walk straight. (Mum usually blames that on the beer!)
Rej had to do stays before he worked his 'Ticket' but it was so windy he thought the tent was gonna blow over, so he had to stand up just incase he had to make a run for it!  The judge still let him have a play round the ring though.  Mum didn't make Duggie do any work. She said because he's a baby, she didn't want the wind to blow him away................................

Rugby

Posted at 05:35 PM on May 04, 2008 Comments comments (2)

Hi, we went to Rugby today.

It was Rej's first ticket of the year.

The sets were first. He did a mega sendaway, then came DC.  Missed a position. Retrieve dropped the article. Heelwork, followed mum out on the stand ASSD. Think he needs to do a few more to get back 'in the swing' of things.

Mum was a bit mardy!

Then she took me to do my Novice round. I thought I'd cheer her up and tried really hard to be a good boy.  We did our round and then had to run to that other ring, where I had to lay down with strange dogs again. (I still can't figure that one out!) At the end of the class we went to see if I'd got a prize..................... I only won it.  That's two classes I've worked and two classes I've won. Mum said that she's on  but she looks as if she's still walking about to me ??  Apparently, I can't go in that class anymore now.  I get to go in the class with the big boys and do findies and stuff - Can't wait.

We saw Hilda too. Her new mummy brought her to see us. She was kinda happy to meet us but went off with her new mummy as if she'd been there all the time.

Not gotta show this week. Mum's judging at Loughborough on Saturday, but we're going on Sunday so that I can have a play in the ring with my ballie - to pay me back for my win.

Today was very cold and very wet!

Mum didn't want to stand out in it doing stays so we didn't do any!! We just had a play in the rings with our ballies.

Hilda came with us and somebody called "Fate" turned up.  Can't say much more at the moment just that..........

Her page will be updated as soon as we have pictures!

Hi,

Today was the first show we'd been to since October and we were all very excited.  Mum walked Dug round the rings and said he was a git! He is coming up to 18 months and is being a total 'kevin'! She took him to the stay ring coz he's stays were quite early and he dragged her all the way there.  He weed up everything (including a lady that was saying 'Hello' to him!)and was sniffing and dribbling everywhere.  Mum tried to do some heelwork with him but he'd forgot what it means. She said something about Tess and Tickles going to the vets but I think they must be new pets coming coz I ain't seen them before.  Anyway, he was a good boy and did his stays but couldn't concentrate on his round so she trained him. She's giving him a month or two to get back into 'the swing of things' then Tess & Tickles may be going?!?

I was a good boy (NEARLY!)

I did my 'C' round and was only a bit naughty <bg>

I went into the lead and stayed there all day. We went to do stays and I did my sit like a good boy. Then came the down. Mum told me to stay and walked off with all the other handlers, I forgot myself for a minute and stood up to follow her. Then I looked round and saw all the other dogs lying down so I thought I'd better do it too.  Mum saw me but wasn't too cross, she said that at least I remembered that I was supposed to be lying down!

I still did my scent and found it straight away so I really was only a bit naughty!!

Going to Coseley on Sunday, so I'll try to be good.  Dug had better try really hard...........................

Hi,

Wogan reporting,
We finally got to a show today.
Ant and Adelle (my first Mum & Dad, where I was born) came to watch me today. They were going to video me being good!  The weather was just how I like it. Cold, grey and wet - nobody else seemed to be happy about it tho???

My first run was in a Jumping class. It was a lovely course and I was on a mission. Waaaaaay in front of Mum, she obviously hasn't shifted all the Christmas goodies! She knows that I can weave on the right but doesn't trust me at a show.     I jumped a jump and headed to the weaves, just about to stick my nose in them and she called me back (so that she's could catch up I think) Then expected me to get her out of the mess she'd made, as if...............  I showed her it wasn't good to stop a girl mid flow and went in the second weave. I then finished the course as I'd started it *FLYING* with her puffing after me!

The next round was Agility.  Now, bearing in mind that Adelle had come to video me I expected her to be in the best 'viewing area'. She had the camera and was poised at the start. I started off then saw her move to a different spot. I wasn't having that. I had to go and check to make sure she could still get my best side.

Mum wasn't too chuffed!

I ran back, smiled sweetly, and finished the course. Less said about it the better.

By this time Mum was losing her voice, she's got a cold or something and she's gone all croaky.  Some may use it as an excuse not to hear her............

Not me tho!

Our last round was an Agility round. While we were queuing up a lady came over and started talking to mum about me. It seems that a friend of hers has got I.W.S and did a bit of Agility with them. So she wanted to watch me go round.  No pressure then.......

It was a bit trickier than the others and we both had to concentrate. Me especially, coz I couldn't hear her. (Food for thought, Debz)

I got all the hard bits out of the way first. The see-saw was the first 'contact'. I normally like to dive off the end but I was a good girl today, being filmed you see and the lady watching. Got my 'A frame' too. Bombed round the rest with only the 'dogwalk' and one jump to go. Ran really fast up the 'dogwalk' then forgot it wasn't the 'see-saw' put my brakes on for the 'tilt' and went flying off the side.  Did it again and flew the last jump.  Mum was really pleased with me, and the lady said I was much faster than her friend's dogs.

All in all we had a good day.  Mum said the best bit was because I was running faster than her and she didn't have to keep waiting for me.  Some people are soooo easily pleased?!?

'Til next time

Shows

Hiya

The show season will soon be starting and I'm really looking forward to it.  I'm sooo excited about working Duggie this year. His winter training has come on lovely. He can now do 'A' recalls and his baby scents are ace.  His heelwork position is still not quite as strong as I want it. We have a little leg/head co-ordination problem. If he keeps his head on me, his back legs wobble and his bum goes down, NOT what I want. If he keeps his back straight, he's a bit loose on his about turns, I can live with that coz he'll get better as he gets fitter, and I obviously need to explain what I want from him a bit more.  He's now doing article retrieves and baby sendaways, which he thinks is fab.

Rej has had most of the winter off and I'm now bringing him back into work. He's a tad forward, a tad gobby and awfully full of his own importance!!  Just how I like him, coz he does worry a bit in the ring and it takes the edge off him.

Wogan should've been going to an Agility Show today at Norwich but it was cancelled coz of the snow.  I don't think she's that bothered - she hasn't moved from in front of the fire all day!!
